You scroll back up for the one paragraph that mattered and it is gone. The conversation is hours long now and the page has thrown that part out of the document. Lostless puts bookmarks and notes inside the conversation so you can get back to a spot instead of hunting for it.
What it does
Color bookmarks
Flag any paragraph in one of seven colors, each with its own tag name. Click a chip to jump straight back to it, even after the page dropped that paragraph and rebuilt it.
Inline notes
Attach a note to a paragraph. The note stays with the paragraph rather than with a scroll position, so it is still there when the conversation grows.
One panel for the thread
Every bookmark and note in the current conversation in a single panel, one click from the paragraph it points at.
Free and Pro
- Free covers the whole bookmarking and note surface, kept on your own machine. No account, no sign-up, no server.
- Pro syncs your bookmarks to a cloud you already own: GitHub Gist, Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox. $5 a month, $29 a year, or $49 once.
- Sync sends your data to your account, not to a server we run, and it is encrypted on your machine with AES-GCM-256 before it gets there.
What it isn't
- Not a replacement for Claude or ChatGPT. It works on top of both, in place.
- It only stores the text of a paragraph when you bookmark or note that paragraph.
- No analytics and no telemetry. Nothing is sent anywhere when you install it, when a page loads, or on a background timer.
- We run no storage backend for your bookmarks and hold no copy of them.
